Student Council and Leadership Programme at Wisdom World School, Hadapsar

At Wisdom World School, Hadapsar, we are dedicated to nurturing leadership qualities in our students from a young age. Our Student Council and Leadership Programme provides a platform for students to develop essential life skills such as responsibility, decision-making, and teamwork, while making meaningful contributions to the school community.

Election Process: Learning the Values of Democracy

The Student Council is elected through a ballot system, teaching students the values of democracy and the importance of civic participation. Students from Grades IX and X have the opportunity to run for election, where they present their ideas and campaign for votes, helping them understand the principles of democratic leadership and representation. This process instills in them the importance of voting, campaigning, and the significance of their voice in a democratic society.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Student Council

Once elected, Student Council members play vital roles within the school. Their responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining discipline and ensuring that school rules are followed, acting as role models for their peers.
  • Participating in various school committees that focus on initiatives for school development and community engagement.
  • Driving key initiatives in areas such as environmental awareness, social work, and gender equality.

Key Committees

Our Student Council members are actively involved in several committees, each contributing to different aspects of school life:

  • The Environment Committee: This group works to raise awareness about environmental issues and implement sustainable practices within the school, ensuring that students understand the importance of eco-friendly habits.
  • Gender Sensitization and Social Empowerment Committee: Focused on promoting equality, respect, and awareness about gender issues, this committee works to create a safe and inclusive school environment for all students.
  • Social Work Initiatives: Council members also lead various community service projects and social awareness campaigns, helping students develop empathy, a sense of civic responsibility, and a commitment to contributing positively to society.
